Come join us for flagging and flow arts to a live set by DJ Michael Rackley!

Whether you are a flagger, someone who enjoys watching this entrancing art, or someone who is interested in starting, come and have fun with us!

Join Zoom Meeting:

(you will need a passcode to join this event. If you don’t have a passcode please msg Daniel G. Van Olst on Facebook messenger)
(full zoom invite at end)

(If you would like to be in the showcase this week, see details below.)

We will have a speaker or instructor, announcements, a live DJ set, and then a flagging showcase!

Our resident DJ Michael Rackley will be spinning for us LIVE from 7:40 till 8:30pm! He wows us every week with his joyous flagging music!

Please come join us – flagging with us would be fantastic – but even if you can’t flag, or don’t want to, please come watch and listen to the beautiful music! This will also be a chance to chat with flaggers all over the country and (possibly) all over the world!

7:00PM Instructor or Speaker
7:30PM Announcements
7:40PM DJ Michael Rackley
8:30PM Flagging Showcase
(after showcase) All-Spin

Flagging Showcase: If you have never been in the showcase and would like to be in the showcase in the next few weeks, please send me (Daniel G. Van Olst) a FB Messenger msg and I will send you details. If you have been in the showcase and would like to go again, send me a msg!

For those of you that don’t know, the showcase is a chance to step back from our own flagging and really appreciate the beauty of other flaggers. You might see someone’s meditation, over-the-top-performance, or something experimental. You might also see someone getting up for the first time to perform in front of a supportive audience.

Please do not underestimate the gift you bring as a showcase performer in these challenging times.

Virtual Studio Tips:
——————-
– Try to keep your audio muted unless you are speaking or applauding. Ambient noise from a big event like this can be overwhelming and I don’t want to mute everyone unless required.
– If we are giving a lesson and you have a question, unmute yourself and mute yourself again when done.
– If everyone is muted (as during the DJ set) take advantage of the Chat message window in Zoom.
– Costumes, lights, or just a bright outfit or hat can really add to the experience for everyone and make the most of the virtual experience.
– Consider playing your audio through better speakers to enjoy the music even more. (Macs often have the option to route audio to AppleTVs, for example).

(If you are not familiar with Zoom, msg me BEFORE Thursday, I will try to help!)

(Reminder: this is a public event, both on Facebook and Zoom. If this is a concern please consider using your first name and last initial on Zoom. The organizers may use stills and short video clips of the event on the FVS group page).
